Volunteer Positions
President-Elect
This position entails a three-year commitment first as president-elect, president, and then immediate past president. Each have their own unique responsibilities. The president-elect serves as the Chair for the Administrative Council, is trained on the office of President, and is a voting member of the Executive Board. Following the year of President-Elect, this person assumes the role of President and serves as the Chair of the Executive Board among many other responsibilities. As Immediate Past President, you would continue to mentor volunteer leaders and assume the role as Chair of the VDHA Foundation.
Vice-President
As a voting member of the executive board, this person services on the Executive Committee, Procedures Committee, and reviews contracts with Budget and Finance committee.
Alternate Speaker of the House
This non-voting member of the Executive Board serves on the Standing Rules Committee. This person is the Sergeant-At-Arms at the annual House of Delegates meeting and serves as Chair of the Credential Committee.
Treasurer
As a voting member of the Executive Board, this person serves as the Chair for the Budget and Finance Committee, serves as VDHA Foundation Director, and serves in many other capacities regarding budgetary items.
Recording Secretary
As a voting member of the Executive Board, this person records the minutes of all Executive Board meetings and Administrative Council meetings. Additionally, this person records all votes as needed in person and via email.
Speaker of the House
This non-voting member of the Executive Board serves on the Bylaws, Resolutions, and Policy committee as well as Chair of the Standing Rules Committee. This person leads the annual House of Delegates meeting, planning, and procedures.
VDHA Trustees
This is a two-year term that is selected by components to serve on the Executive Board representing their area. This person is a voting member and a liasion between the component and consituent.
